Rodin Museum Gateway
Pierre Bullet (Architect), Conkling-Armstrong Terra Cotta Company, Paul Philippe Cret (Architect), 1928
* seated and reclining people (cherubs, unfinished headless person), head scarf, scales and other tools, plants, musical instrument
* philadelphiabuildings.org lists both Conkling-Armstrong and Benedict Stone Corp. as being involved in the construction of the building. Conkling-Armstrong seems the more likely to have done the detail for this piece.
* inscription: This architectural fragment is a reproduction of parts of the old Chateau Dissy re-erected by Auguste Rodin at Meudon, France near the studio where most of his work was done.
This replica of the Rodin Memorial at Meudon was chosen by Jules E. Mastbaum for the gateway to the Museum.
